Chase Business Credit Card Guide: Requirements, Limits, Scams

posted on October 29, 2026

Chase sets the requirements, limit and approval terms for each business card, and those change by card, so the exact answer for the card you want is on Chase’s own card pages. The federal data gives you the wider picture: in the Federal Reserve 2026 report on employer firms, 60% of firms applied for financing in the prior 12 months, and 42% of applicants received the full amount they sought.

Is it hard to get a Chase business credit card?

Chase decides each application on its own terms, so there is no single bar to clear. The Federal Reserve’s survey of small employer firms gives you the broad numbers. It is a convenience sample of 6,525 responses, not a random sample, and the Federal Reserve says results should be read with that in mind.

Measure (small employer firms) Figure
Firms that applied for financing in the prior 12 months 60%
Firms that applied for a loan, line of credit or merchant cash advance 38%
Applicants that received the full amount they sought 42%
Applicants that received some or most of it 36%
Applicants that received none 22%
Firms that use financing on a regular basis (most common products: credit cards and loans) 86%

Those figures cover applicants for financing generally, not Chase cards alone. The Federal Reserve survey does not report business credit card applicants as their own group. Read the numbers as context, then check the card’s own requirements before you apply.

What do I need to qualify for a Chase business credit card?

The requirements for each card are set out on Chase’s card pages and in its application, so read them for the card you want before you start. Chase’s card pages are also where you will find the current rules for the business information it asks for.

The federal survey shows how small firms with debt have secured it. Of firms that have debt, 59% used a personal guarantee to secure their debt, and 51% used business assets. A personal guarantee means you are personally responsible for the debt if the business cannot pay it. Know that before you sign anything.

Do I need an LLC to get a Chase business credit card?

Whether Chase requires an LLC is a question for Chase. Ask the card’s sign-up or help line whether a registered business entity is needed for the card you want, and read the card’s terms.

SBA loans have their own rules and are a different product. SBA’s 7(a) loan page, as of October 28, 2026, says a business must be an operating business, operate for profit, be located in the U.S. and be small under SBA size requirements. See the SBA 7(a) loan program page for the full list.

Which Chase card has a $10,000 or $20,000 limit, and what is the limit on a Chase business card?

The limit on a Chase business card is set card by card, and the figure you are offered depends on your application. For the limit on a specific card, look at that card’s own Chase page and read the figure there on the day you apply, since Chase’s card terms can change.

How long does it take to get approved for a Chase business card?

Chase’s application page and the decision notice you receive are the places to check the timing for the card you want. Ask Chase directly if you need a decision by a certain date.

What is the easiest Chase business card to get approved for?

Chase’s cards have different requirements, and approval is Chase’s decision. Compare the requirements on each card’s page, and do not rely on a ranking that names a card as the easiest. Pick the card whose requirements match your business, then apply.

I’m just starting out. Can a startup get a business card?

In the Federal Reserve survey, 22% of financing applicants received none of the financing they sought. The survey does not break this out for startups. If a card is not an option yet, the SBA microloan program is built for starting up. It provides loans up to $50,000 to help small businesses and certain not-for-profit childcare centers start up and expand, and the average microloan is about $13,000. Microloans cannot be used to pay existing debts or to purchase real estate, according to SBA.

SBA’s 7(a) Working Capital Pilot is a line of credit, and SBA says it suits a business with at least one year of operating history. Read the working capital loans vs lines of credit comparison to see how the two structures differ.

What does financing cost small firms?

Chase card rates and fees are on Chase’s card pages, so check them there before you apply. For context, these are the figures the sources give:

Option Rate or cost as stated Source
SBA microloan Interest rates generally between 8%-13%, varying by intermediary lender SBA microloan program, as of October 28, 2026
SBA 7(a) Working Capital Pilot, $50,000 or less Cannot exceed base rate +6.5% SBA 7(a) loan program, as of October 28, 2026
SBA 7(a) Working Capital Pilot, $50,001 to $250,000 Cannot exceed base rate +6.0% SBA 7(a) loan program, as of October 28, 2026

The SBA rates are caps set by the program, and your lender sets your actual rate.

Where can I get a loan instead of a card?

SBA’s 7(a) loan program provides a loan guarantee to lenders, and the maximum loan amount is $5 million, as of October 28, 2026. SBA does not lend directly, so you apply through a lender. SBA says you can use its Lender Match tool to be matched with a participating SBA lender.

Chase business credit card login, payment and customer service

Use the sign-in, payment and help options on Chase’s own website for login, payments and customer service. Keep your business and personal finances separate in your payment setup, and read each card’s billing terms before you add an autopay.

Scam warnings: paid services that promise a business card

Some companies charge a fee to get you a business card. The FTC took action against one. In a November 2025 press release, the FTC said Seek Capital and its CEO were permanently banned from providing business financing, debt relief and credit repair services. The FTC alleged that Seek Capital charged clients thousands of dollars simply to open credit cards, often without the promised 0% interest terms. The court found that the company misrepresented that using its services would not harm customers’ credit scores, and that it charged upfront fees despite promising none until funding. The court entered the final order on October 1, 2025.

Before you pay anyone, ask for the total fee in writing and check the company against the FTC’s findings. Read more in our guide to debt settlement and credit repair scams. You can also check your own credit reports through the steps in our guide to free credit reports before you apply.

What does the CFPB say about changed rewards?

As of October 29, 2026, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Circular 2024-07, published in the Federal Register on December 30, 2024, asks whether credit card issuers can violate the law if they or their rewards partners devalue earned rewards or otherwise inhibit consumers from obtaining or redeeming promised rewards. The answer is in the full circular, which you can read in the CFPB Circular 2024-07 in the Federal Register. This is information, not legal advice.

Before you apply

  • Read the requirements on the Chase page for the exact card you want.
  • Ask Chase whether a registered business entity, such as an LLC, is required.
  • Check the card’s current limit and rates on Chase’s card page on the day you apply.
  • Read any personal guarantee terms before you sign.
  • Do not pay a company that promises a card for a fee until you have the fee in writing.
