No product is crowned the winner here. Different households have different problems, and the right answer depends on which problem you actually have.

Two different figures circulate for this product, and both are accurate — they appear on different pages of the same funnel.

The landing page advertises $38.73 per unit against a $108.89 regular price. At checkout, the actual tiers are:

  • Two units: $98.00 — $49.00 per unit
  • Three units: $117.60 — $39.20 per unit
  • Four units: $154.94 — $38.73 per unit
  • Five units: $194.00 — $38.80 per unit

The advertised $38.73 rate is reachable only by buying the four-unit bundle at $154.94. A single unit costs $49.00. Shipping is free, and the checkout offers two paid add-ons: a two-year extended warranty at $9.95 and package protection at $4.95. Promotional coupon codes can shift the totals further, so confirm your figure at checkout.

The brand recommends one unit per 800 to 1,200 square feet, which means the bundles — not the single unit — are the intended purchase for most houses.

The Part That Decides Everything: How Your Bill Is Calculated

To evaluate any device that promises a lower electric bill, you have to know what your utility charges you for. This is the whole ballgame, and it is not complicated.

Residential customers in the United States are billed by the kilowatt-hour (kWh). A kilowatt-hour is real power consumed over time — the actual work your refrigerator, air conditioner, and water heater do. Your meter records that, and your utility multiplies it by your rate.

Now the jargon these ads lean on. Power factor describes how well voltage and current line up in an electrical system. When they drift out of sync, more current flows than the “real” work strictly requires. Correcting power factor with capacitors is a genuine engineering practice, and it saves real money for commercial and industrial customers who are billed on demand or penalized for poor power factor.

Residential customers are generally not billed that way, and there is a specific reason the math does not carry over.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has published a plain explanation of why. Switching on a capacitor-type power factor correction device does reduce the current drawn from the line — but it raises the power factor by a corresponding amount at the same time. A residential bill is based on the product of those two quantities, and that product does not change. NIST’s team concluded that the devices provide no savings on a typical household bill.

  • A law that does not appear to exist. The order page states that power factor devices are now legal in the USA because the “Residential Energy Stabilization (RES) law” was passed. No such federal statute appears in U.S. law. The identical sentence appears on sales pages for MiracleWatt, StopWatt, and Pro Power Save — different brand names dropped into the same template. Notably, these devices were never illegal to sell in the first place, so the claim resolves a problem that did not exist.
  • Three different certification claims across two pages. The landing page describes the device as UL-tested. The order page FAQ calls it UL approved. A second FAQ further down that same order page says it is built with UL-recognized components. Those are materially different things. “UL-recognized components” means individual parts were evaluated, not the finished product, and UL does not use the term “approved” at all.
  • Contradictory answers about solar, on one page. One FAQ says the current version has not been thoroughly tested on solar systems and the brand is unsure how effective it will be. A later FAQ on the same page states it works with both grid-tied and off-grid solar.
  • Testimonials carrying specific dollar figures. Reviews on the order page cite monthly savings of $35, a four-month sequence of $33, $45, $52, and $55, and at least $50 a month. They are labeled as verified ratings. No disclaimer appears alongside them indicating these are not typical results. One testimonial’s photo is filed under a different name than the one credited beneath it.
  • A guarantee window shorter than the stated results window. The brand’s Power Saving Guarantee runs 60 days from delivery. The brand also says results take six to eight weeks — up to 56 days — and elsewhere says two to four billing cycles, which can exceed 60 days outright. A buyer following the brand’s own timeline can reach the end of the refund window before the brand says results should be fully visible.
  • Template residue from an unrelated product. The guarantee text on the landing page contains a stray sentence stating the supplement may work. The guarantee badge image is filed under the name of a supplement brand. The footer on the order page displays a shipping date of May 13 under a 2026 copyright.

Separately, consumer-protection researchers have documented near-identical plug-in devices sold under a rotating set of names including remarkable Watt, StopWatt, and Power Saver, with closely matching packaging and copy. Reviewers who have opened devices in this family generally report a small circuit board, a capacitor, and an LED. Researchers have also documented listings in this category falsely crediting Elon Musk as inventor and ads built around AI-generated “electricians.”

We found no independent, controlled before-and-after testing measuring kilowatt-hours under identical loads that supports the advertised savings figures for this device.

There is no single winner in that table, and we are not going to invent one.

A smart thermostat has the strongest verified savings evidence, but it does very little in a mild climate or a home where HVAC is a small share of usage. An energy monitor is the most intellectually honest purchase on the list and also the one that saves you nothing by itself. Smart plugs are cheap and real, and the savings are genuinely small. An audit is often free and frequently the highest-value step, and it requires the most follow-through.

Power Pro Genius sits differently, and readers deserve the plain version. The other five options are debated on magnitude — how much they save, for whom. This device is debated on mechanism — whether the thing it describes doing can affect a residential bill at all. That is a different kind of question, and it is the one to resolve before price ever enters the conversation.

If appliance protection is your actual concern, the surge protection row addresses that goal directly.
