President Donald Trump is done playing nice — and if a pair of disgruntled Republican senators think they can hold his Attorney General nominee hostage over personal grudges, they’ve got another thing coming. In a blistering Truth Social post Saturday morning, President Trump put Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina on notice: block Todd Blanche, and he’ll keep Blanche as Acting Attorney General while simultaneously reviving the Anti-Weaponization Bill — a sweeping piece of legislation designed to hold accountable those who abused the power of the federal government against American citizens during the Biden and Obama years.

This is not a bluff. This is Trump doing what Trump does — turning a political obstacle into an opportunity and making sure the American people know exactly who is standing in the way of justice.

Let’s be honest about what’s happening here. According to the President’s post, both Senators Cornyn and Tillis are motivated not by principled opposition to Todd Blanche, but by personal bitterness. Trump noted that he declined to endorse both men — Cornyn reportedly lost his bid and Tillis walked away from his — and now they appear to be using their Senate positions to settle scores rather than serve their constituents.

This is exactly the kind of Swamp behavior that Trump ran against in 2015, 2020, and again in 2024. Career politicians who put their own egos ahead of the country’s needs. The American people sent Republicans to Washington with a mandate — to support the Trump agenda, restore law and order, and dismantle the weaponized bureaucracy that tormented millions of citizens under the Biden regime. Cornyn and Tillis apparently missed that memo.

Todd Blanche, for his part, is no political lightweight. He is a widely respected legal professional with deep experience in federal law — a man Trump himself described as “a voice of reason.” If establishment Republicans are lining up against someone of Blanche’s caliber purely out of spite, that tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.

The Anti-Weaponization Bill: Justice That Americans Deserve

Here is where this story gets truly significant. President Trump made clear in his Truth Social post that if Blanche’s confirmation is blocked, he will push hard to get the Anti-Weaponization Bill passed — and he will get it done.

This legislation is critically important. For years, the federal government under Joe Biden — and, as Trump rightly points out, dating back to Barack Obama — was turned into a political weapon aimed squarely at conservatives, Christians, concerned parents, and most visibly, Donald Trump himself. The Department of Justice, the FBI, and a network of federal agencies were deployed not to protect the American people, but to persecute them.

Consider what Americans witnessed under the Biden-Obama machine:

  • The unprecedented criminal prosecution of a former — and now current — President of the United States on charges widely condemned as politically motivated.
  • FBI raids on political opponents and Trump allies that would have made Banana Republic strongmen blush.
  • The targeting of pro-life activists, traditional Catholics flagged as domestic terror threats, and parents labeled extremists for showing up at school board meetings.
  • A two-tiered justice system where Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, and the Biden family faced little to no accountability while Trump’s circle was relentlessly prosecuted.

The Anti-Weaponization Bill is meant to address these abuses directly — to ensure that no future administration can turn the machinery of the federal government against the very citizens it is supposed to serve. That is not a radical idea. That is the cornerstone of a constitutional republic. And the fact that any Republican senator would rather play political games than support it is a national disgrace.

Trump also made a notably selfless point in his post, stating plainly, “I get nothing” from the bill — even though he was treated, in his words, “horribly.” That speaks to the larger mission here. This isn’t about revenge. It’s about making sure what happened to Trump, to his allies, and to ordinary Americans never happens again.

Acting AG Blanche and the Path Forward

Trump has made clear he has options. If the Senate won’t confirm Blanche, Blanche stays in place as Acting Attorney General. The work of restoring the Justice Department to its proper, non-partisan role continues regardless. And the Anti-Weaponization Bill comes roaring back to the front of the legislative agenda.

In other words, Cornyn and Tillis don’t actually have the leverage they think they have. What they do have is a choice: get on the right side of history and support the Trump agenda their voters sent them to Washington to advance, or continue down the path of obstruction and face the consequences — politically and historically.

The base is watching. Conservative America is watching. And President Trump has made it crystal clear that he is not backing down.

Bottom Line

President Trump’s message Saturday was simple and direct: no one — not even Republicans nursing personal grudges — will be allowed to derail the mission of restoring justice and accountability to the United States government. Todd Blanche will serve, one way or another. The Anti-Weaponization Bill is coming. And Senators Cornyn and Tillis would be wise to remember who sent them to Washington and why. The era of weaponized government is over. The era of accountability has begun — and no amount of Swamp-style obstruction is going to stop it.
